Towards the ending of 2016, I sold two of my sewing machines and bought a new one. With the intention of sewing non stop, I only used my machine twice. Throughout the whole of 2017 I didn't use my sewing machine once, it got to a point where dust was beginning to form.
Those that know me, know that I love sewing and have a huge addiction for fabric, I have cupboards and draws full of fabrics, cotton, silks, african prints, the list goes one. After a year of no sewing, I finally decided to get back to do what I love.
A few weeks ago my friend had a get together at their house, the theme was african attire, not knowing what to wear I decided to make myself a jacket . I opened my draw and looked through what seemed like a never-ending pile of fabrics and came across a green print african fabric which I've had for two years and voilà, I begun to get to work. Having made this jacket, I got so many compliments and during that moment I knew that it was time to get back to doing what I love and what I'm very good at. Over the next few weeks, I'm hoping to share some of the things I plan on making.
