A Creative Journey

A Creative Journey

The thought of starting a new job can be daunting, planning a new journey to get to work, plus alternatives in case theres a problem, discovering whats in the local area, supermarkets, pharmacy, florist and cake shop. Most importantly starting a new job means, new people, new team. That's been me for the past few months.

I took time out from blogging to settle down and focus my attention in my new job, to understand the company and most of all learn, theres so much to remember, at times it can be overwhelming.

The company has an archive of 9000 fabrics and 2000 wallpapers. that's a huge collection and almost impossible for one to learn and remember.

I never use to take much consideration for colour, until I started working where I am now. Colour is key alongside flowers being the foundation of textiles for building a new collection. What I love is how involved the creative director is with all areas, from presentations of the new collection, showroom meetings not just in London, but also in Paris and other parts of Europe.

As part of my job, I have to create mood boards for the showroom, which, in the beginning I thought would be easy, sticking down a few images and pinning fabric until I got told to redo the entire thing, at this point everything was already stuck down. However, little did I know how much thought ought to go into creating a mood, each mood board created by the team, is a reflection of personality with who the perfect client and home is. each mood board is different and very much unique.

With love,
